I was pleased with the Plummer’s professionalism, knowledge and friendliness. He let me know what the problem was with my toilet and that he would recommend what has to be done.

I have now filed four claims with CHW

I have now filed four claims with CHW. In no case was CHW willing to either repair or replace items in question. In one instance resolution required multiple phone calls ultimately ending with supervisory intervention to pay what amounted to a less than $250 claim. Second claim, similar results. Third claim, for stove that CHW chose to buy out rather than make a $400 repair, with similar result. will never have CHW warranty again.

CHW is very responsive when submitting a claim. However, I am unsure about some of the businesses that they have contracts with. The first scheduled HVAC technician had horrendous reviews, so I cancelled the appointment. The second technician did not show up even after I called him and he requested an alternate day and time.....I took time from my job to be present within the 3 hour window. But, the third technician was a Gem!!!!

The technician sent to my house was a 5 star guy, but Choice Warranty doesn’t cover anything that would cause me to spend more money on a renewal of their warranty. I’d rather save my money and when something happens, I’d pay for the repairs, which I have to do anyway with the Choice Warranty. I was supposed to get a free service visit - that didn’t happen. When it came time for my repairs, Choice found a way to not cover any of them.

Very Shady- Don't on getting your appliance replaced from Choice Warranty

I've been a consumer of Choice warranty for more than two years. The compressor on my stainless steel LG French door refrigerator went out! Choice warranty informed me that they would not repair it but replace it. They offered me $730. There is no way you can replace that type of refrigerator for $730. After multiple attempts of trying to contact my so-called case manager (while having no refrigerator) 6 days later I was able to talk with my case manager and she agreed to give me $1199 towards the purchase of a new refrigerator, I was not happy but figured that would be the best I could do! So, I immediately went out shopping to purchase a new refrigerator comparable to what I had, which cost me $2600. I found the best deal at NFM (6 months no interest)! I continued to wait for my $1199 reimbursement check. 3 weeks later I contacted Choice for status on my check, I left multiple VMs for my case manager no call back(terrible service). I called back to the claim center the said I should Be receiving a Lowe's gift card in a few days. I said, I don't want no Lowe's card, I've already purchased my refrigerator and I need to have a reimbursement check! And once again I was referred to my so-called case manager, seven days later I still not have received a call back. I called back in and spoke to another caseworker who pretty much said she can't do anything to help me and she would have the manager Anthony call me! I still have not received a call back from Anthony or Shante my case manager or anybody from choice. What the hell am I gonna do with a $1198 gift card to Lowe's when I have a $2600 refrigerator that I need to pay off! This is some BS and I am super pissed! This is the worst warranty company I've ever worked with who in the hell gives you a gift card without confirming its ok first! It would be nice if someone would contact me! Be careful if you're a customer if Choice warranty and there say there'll replace your appliance!

Response to CHW

Will try to get out of covering anything. Will not renew my contract. Had to prove that the first technician lied. The second technician did not pull out my washer for inspection nor looked in it but I was informed by CHW that the technician stated there was corrosion around the drum and the drain. Now tell me how do you come to that conclusion without inspecting. I asked for an invoice and the technician stated he didn't do anything so he doesn't write up an invoice. Well, I beg to differ because now I have no proof to back up what I stated to CHW like I did with the first technician. And the diagnosis was totally different. So, who and what are you to believe? I just don't think CHW should have just given up at that point because of the 2 different diagnoses and by the 2nd technician leaving me no invoice to prove him wrong with his statement. It all seems like a trend of "documenting/stating one thing to the customer and another to CHW what you can to keep from having to do repairs ". The technicians need to wear body cams they show them doing the actual work along with CHW being able visually see the problem. This would alleviate a lot of lying between contractors and holding CHW accountable for actual reliable repairs. There needs to be an investigation on these type trends. That's just my take on it! Definitely will be leaving them as soon as review other warranty companies! I wish I had done that with CHW but it's a lesson learned!
CHW PRO: what they "say" they will cover
CHW CONS: Try not to repair anything
My response to CHW reply is that the coverage isn't the problem, it's the contractors they have working for them and reporting different diagnoses to them versus what they tell the customer.
Update to CHW response: Had a technician to come out and look at my washer and guess what, it was what was originally documented that I proved being the mother board a s my washer has been doing great every since! So, whe should I keep CHW when I'm having to pay out of pocket anyway? Yep, I am definitely retiring them and relocating to better service in which I should have done my homework with before selecting CHW so I blame myself for that mistake but never again.

One week and my kitchen sink leak still…

One week and my kitchen sink leak still isn’t repaired. Mind you, the plumber that finally showed up was descent. CHS made an appointment for 3 days from the time I called but didn’t dispatch my issue to a plumber until the day before my appointment so the plumber was already booked so I had to wait an extra day for the plumber. The plumber came after CHS hours so labor and parts couldn’t be approved until the next day, not that the plumber had parts. So 1 week later and the plumber will be back. But CHS wouldn’t approve the faucet that was broken so I had to supply one for the plumber to install when he returns.

Horrible!

We have been with CHW for two months and it took us one month to get someone out to our house to try and fix our water heater. First they deny our claim due to normal wear and tear then they rectify and approve it, they send us a plumber who doesn't show up, after my husband took a day off using his paid time off, they tried to rectify and send us another contractor which never showed up. Another personal day my husband had to take off. So that leaves us with 16 hours of his personal time he had to take off. We called that contractor to ask them why they never showed up, they told us that they don't work with home waranty companies and not sure why CHW would dispatch them. Two weeks later they send another contractor to come out and this time they denied the claim from that contractor! How frustrating! I called CHW and all they tell me is we have to assign you to another case manager to resolve claim, mind you a contractor is at our house waiting on them to approve the claim that they already approved. At this point we have had a leaking water heater that flooded our garage for almost a month with no help but chaos and confusion from CHW. We decided to cancel our plan with them for them to take 250.00 from us which actuality they should pay us for taking time off only to be denied a claim that was already approved. I would not recommend this company if you want a company that requires you to do the work and lose money.

Be very careful and ask to see the contract prior to committing to Choice. I have two claims with them. They have agreed to replacement parts on nearly 10 year wash machine which I was thankful for because I really do like the wash machine and it's no longer made. The issue is with my less than 2 years old dishwasher. They decided it was not worth fixing however it seems this company doesn't stand up to their replacement agreement. They don't replace, the offer a buy out at their cost which is substantial less than what a consumer needs to pay. The offered me $246. for a new dishwasher. I spoke to a case manager who saw nothing wrong with their offer. Guess what, they base that buy out offer on their cost, ironically they don't order or purchase on your behalf. Their practice and logic make no sense. I've yet to receive the 246. I will not be renewing when my term is up.

Your final offer was 462 for a freezer at the cheapest price we found was 602+ tax. That 602 was the cheapest price we could find anywhere.

I have to speak to a specialist first to fix my insurance status. I know everyone and everything will work out fine. So glad I joined.
